AMJAD DIAB

Amjad Diab

Amjad is passionate about understanding how and why structures behave the way they do, especially when these structures fail to perform as intended. From deteriorated elements and cracked concrete members to advanced cementitious composites like ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), he brings a blend of analytical expertise and field experience to assess, investigate, and strengthen existing structures.

He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, after completing both his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Jordan. His doctoral research focused on integrating nonlinear finite element analysis and machine learning to better evaluate the behavior of UHPC members. His doctoral work received national recognition, including the ACI Foundation Fellowship and the PCI Daniel P. Jenny Fellowship.

Prior to pursuing his doctoral degree, Amjad gained unique experience in structural design, construction quality control, and retrofit implementation in the Middle East. He is also an active member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), contributing to committees on UHPC and use of machine learning in the construction industry.

Outside the office, Amjad enjoys swimming, planning his next national park expedition, and hunting down the best shawarma in town.
